Seasonal Influenza Vaccination Programme 2018/19

If you are eligible for the Flu Vaccine and have not received this year, please contact the surgery to arrange an appointment.

You are eligible if you are in a Clinical Risk Group, Pregnant, Over 65, Carer, or Pre School Child (born between 02.07.14 - 01.09.16)

Clinical Risk Groups are as follows;

  • Chronic Respiratory Disease (eg COPD, Asthma that requires the use of inhalers)
  • Chronic Heart Disease
  • Chronic Kidney Disease
  • Chronic Liver Disease
  • Chronic Neurological Disease (eg Stroke)
  • Diabetes
  • Immunosuppression
  • Asplenia or dysfunction of the spleen

Christmas Holiday Closures

The Surgery will be closed Tuesday 25th December & Wednesday 26th December 2018

We will re open on Thursday 27th December at 8.45am for morning open surgery

The Surgery will also be closed on Tuesday 1st January 2019

We will re open on Wednesday 2nd January at 8.45am

Please ensure you order your repeat prescription in good time, to ensure you do not run out of your medicines when the surgery is closed.

 

X-Ray

doctor examining an x-rayAn X-ray is a widely used diagnostic test to examine the inside of the body. X-rays are a very effective way of detecting problems with bones, such as fractures. They can also often identify problems with soft tissue, such as pneumonia or breast cancer.

If you have a X-ray, you will be asked to lie on a table or stand against a surface so that the part of your body being X-rayed is between the X-ray tube and the photographic plate.

An X-ray is usually carried out by a radiographer, a healthcare professional who specialises in using imaging technology, such as X-rays and ultrasound scanners.

We generally refer patients to Lagan Valley or Downe Open access Xray dept [not available for children below 18th Birthday]
