Health Visitors

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing. Health visitors are employed directly by the Health Boards, rather than Dromara surgery.

Which health visitor you might have, depends on where you live:
In Eastern board [Bins collected by Downe and Lisburn council] the health visitor currently comes most Wednesday mornings to the surgery.
Southern board [bins collected by Banbridge council], makes their own arrangements.
